Okay, these are not exactly new material but I really feel that a young, hot and shirtless Richard Gere totally deserves a repost. I had capped him as one of my earliest featured celebrities on this website (back in the GeoCities ages) and last night I re watched this hot film. It reminded me how impossibly sexy Richard Gere was and how many times he has helped me go through puberty. In case anyone’s wondering, yes his small brother did make an appearance for quite sometime in one scene. So to all Richard Gere’s fans out there, hope you enjoy these shirtless caps from one of Gere’s earliest movies, 1980′s “American Gigolo”. Oh and the soundtrack was kinda awesome too. I think the scenes with the gravity boots are iconic in American cinema. Now, we know I love hairier chests, but Richard Gere totally rocks the smooth look.

When I was in the 7th Grade, I saw a shirtless photo of Richard Gere for the first time. I REALIZED I AM GAY, AND PROUD OF THAT FACT, THEN AND THERE. It was as simple and profound as that! Thank you, Richard, for all you have done for me without knowing me. Is it any wonder I feel I owe almost everything good to Richard Gere?

That mark on his upper left back is a birthmark. Forgot how fine Richard Gere looked (& still does) back in the day.

Let’s not forget that he does full frontal nudity in that movie. The first or one of the first to do so I think.

Oh yeah Jim, actually I particularly remembered this movie just for that standing by the blinds scene. Wish to see it closer though! Casperfan just posted the scene (NSFW duh) so you might wanna check it out. Another movie of Richard’s nudefest – “Breathless”, shot was clearer but clever coverup angles, which was so unnecessary. They should stop doing that to gorgeous men like him and let it hang free.

I just read that the “American Gigolo” role was first offered to John Travolta, but he turned it down. John Travolta also turned down the lead role in “An Officer and a Gentleman”. I’d like to reiterate the aforementioned gratitude and thank Richard for all his gratuitous shirtless pictures and scenes when I was in elementary school and junior high.
