Tim Kang in Robot Stories

Tim Kang Shirtless

It’s not that easy to find a hairy chested Asian on screen (and on the streets too) but somehow this furry hotness made his way here. I have no idea who Tim Kang is but that doesn’t stop me from posting these furrilicious caps from the film “Robot Stories”. Want! He is currently in “The Mentalist” with Simon Baker, but as I don’t watch the show I’d really appreciate if those who do can give me some skin tips on him. Everything worked like a beautiful symphony here; the light goatee, the chest hair, the stunning face, the naturally fit body. This post is dedicated to everyone who requested more Asian hotness on the site, and rest assured there will definitely be more after this!

Thanks to xyz at Dreamcaps for this.

Wow, “oriental”… really? Come on, that’s as archaic (for describing people) as using “colored”.

  2. Square on February 27th, 2009 at 12:17 am

Thanks pugluv, I wasn’t aware that it is an offensive word. Really. I should be extra careful from now on.

  3. robert on February 27th, 2009 at 12:28 am

This gorgeous young man is likely from mixed race parentage. And in such alliances, the Asian genes are more than likely dominant so it is something of a rarity to see such a lovely furry combination. Asian men are, in general, not genetically disposed to hairiness. That’s one reason those into smooth are very fond of this usually exotic and hairless type. But, hairy or not, this guy is one hot dude.

  4. robert on February 27th, 2009 at 12:35 am

“Oriental”. Definitely un-PC today, but you still see “Oriental rugs” as description of carpets from many Asian sources which will always be noted on the specific carpet of interest. For some reason, “Asian rugs” just doesn’t make it in the market. I doubt anyone would have any idea what they were.
    Go figure.

  5. DoverDavid on February 27th, 2009 at 6:38 am

Always nice to see the rare man of Asian descent with hair on his body.

  6. Drew on February 27th, 2009 at 8:45 am

its rare but there are a few asian men with hair on their chest and they are not of mixed ancestry…

my friend is one…Taiwanese 100% ( as far as I know cos both his parents are as Taiwanese as they come )…

mail me if you want pics of him…

  7. Dammit Janet on February 27th, 2009 at 8:48 am

Isn’t this the guy in those satellite TV commercials trying to convince his best buddy to go satellite?

  8. Drew on February 27th, 2009 at 8:49 am

oh and he blames all the hair on his chest and legs on the hormones in the milk that he drank whilst growing up…haha…

  9. David1969 on February 27th, 2009 at 10:24 am

he is the guy in those great AT&T Satalite TV Commercials…..I would nail his ass time and time again….I am not ususally attraticed to Asian guys….but this guy is total HOTTNESS….anyone know his story???

  10. duckhunter 1 on February 27th, 2009 at 11:11 am

  12. loudrockmusic on February 27th, 2009 at 12:22 pm

Good rule of thumb: People are Asian, things are oriental. Like rugs!

Anyhoo, thank the great Googly-moogly that you know who the cutie from the AT&T ads is. He’s adorable and seems so friendly on screen. I love the chestal area and his sweet face.

A man of Asian descent with chest hair is like the Holy Grail. Great find!

  19. RodMDZ on February 27th, 2009 at 5:48 pm

Uh, I don’t care how you call it… he’s steamy! There aren’t many asians where i live… there should be some like that… :p

  20. A Little Edgy on February 27th, 2009 at 7:43 pm

It’s a shame about Oriental becoming un-PC. Asian is not really an adequate substitute, since there are many parts of Asia that are not “Oriental.” (Indians are Asians, too.)

Anyway, TK is gorgeous, and I totally agree that an East Asian guy with hair on his chest is steamy hot. I have noticed that some Japanese men are a bit hairier than average for that part of the world (Google Yukio Mishima to see what I mean), but Kang is not a Japanese name. Maybe he is mixed-race, but, wow what a sexy guy.

The term oriental actually refers to the Middle East which was ancient Persia so Oriental rugs = Persian rugs = rugs from Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc and not Asia as in Japan, China, Korea, etc.

Remember the Christmas carol about the three wise men searching for baby Jesus? “We three kings of Orient are….” well folks, none of them were Asian.

Not all Asians are hairless. People have that misconception because that’s about all that is featured in rice-queen magazines and porn available in the West. Japan is a land of “types” and most of the hairy guys are muscular/stocky and very masculine/macho types, not what most rice-queens prefer. The slimmer adorkable types sometimes shave their chest hair to fit into a type – sad but true.

If you Google “Japanese bear porn” you’ll find some examples of handsome furry “kuma” although most of them are a bit too husky for my taste. There is a magazine titled G-Men that features very muscular Japanese guys, sometimes nice and furry, but censored according to Japanese requirements.

Okinawan men (and women!) are sometimes very furry, more than Tim Kang, and that’s one of the ways you can tell their ethnicity.

Please excuse the history lesson but some Asians, like myself, are proud of our ancestry and find the term “oriental” to be both incorrect and somewhat offensive in this day and age.

Plus this is an opportunity to bring more attention to Asian guys and maybe we’ll see more shirtless ones here! Please?

  23. robert on February 27th, 2009 at 10:40 pm

@SamuraiSensei: Not a history lesson at all. A very clear indication how many of us, moi included, sometimes make the usual racial assumptions. I suppose that could just as easily translate as “stereotypes”. Very nicely and diplomatically put. Everyone benefits by information / knowledge.

  24. Robert Daniels on February 28th, 2009 at 10:31 pm

He is a total hottie! I would kiss, lick and nibble him all over! He get my motor goin BIG time! Would love to see more of him!

  26. Duckhunter1 on March 1st, 2009 at 12:16 pm

Joe now your just getting mean if your teasing us thats different

TO me at least I am Half Oriental and accept I wish others accept it since India is part of asia and Russia so are the also ASIAN??

There is nothing wrong in being Oriental and the ones who are Oriental are to me ashamed of ther race

  27. SamuraiSensei on March 2nd, 2009 at 12:55 am

    Hello Duckhunter1:
I am of Japanese ancestry and I am not oriental. I object to the term when it is used incorrectly and definitely not because I am ashamed of my race.

An Asian using the term oriental to describe him or herself is similar to a Cherokee using the term Indian, clearly a personal choice but factually and politically incorrect.

If you want to use the term to describe yourself that’s your decision, however, please do not assume that I or any other are ashamed of our race if we choose not to.

Your question if Russians are also Asians was amusing, I find a sense of humor to be a desirable quality, don’t you agree?

  28. Joe on March 2nd, 2009 at 11:43 am

    Duckhunter1:

The point of my post was that gays who are anti-politically correct are shooting themselves in the foot. We benefit from political correctness too.

    SamuraiSensei:

Your reply to Duckhunter1 was brilliant.

  29. NightTim on March 2nd, 2009 at 10:07 pm

Wow, I follow this website because 1) Square is one of the funniest people on the Web and of course, 2) the pix are delectable – but this is definitely one of the most interesting comment threads to date.

I am Japanese American and have always hated the term “Oriental” when referring to people, even as a little kid. It’s not exactly offensive, just outdated and cringe-worthy, like “Negro.” I guess for me it is also tinged with undertones of racism from WWII, when the term “Yellow Peril” was thrown around to incite hatred, and thousands of JAs (including my mother) were put into internment camps. Having said that, I am aware that some people today still use the term innocently and mean no harm.

The other thing is, I have to say it’s incredibly affirming to me to read the lusty comments about Tim Kang!! As an Asian American, I rarely if ever come across anyone, in person or in print or graphic or photo etc.etc.etc., who sees Asians as desirable (unless they are after the “exotic,” foreign-born boys). I even read an article that asserted that in DC, where I live, Asians are at the bottom of the heirarchy of gay men. Ouch! No wonder I couldn’t get a date! I have a pretty healthy self-esteem now, but there were (and occasionally still are) times when that kind of thing weighs heavily on me. So THANKS, guys, for all your positive comments!!

  30. Square on March 2nd, 2009 at 10:52 pm

NightTim, that’s a huge compliment. THANK YOU! Anyways, by the power invested in me by my second husband (that’s John Krasinski for you n00bies) I hereby make our furry friend here a feature post! :)

  31. robert on March 2nd, 2009 at 11:16 pm

I second NightTim’s affirmation of Square’s comic skills as well as his ability to find and post gorgeous pix on a daily basis. OMG, the work involved!!
In addition to the delicious eye appeal, the site is INTERESTING [few of these sorts are], has the best comment threads anywhere, allows for long-winded
posters, and is beautifully put together. The complications of doing this are far beyond my imagination and infinitely beyond any miserable computer skills I’ve scrounged together. [I did figure out the Apache server was responsible for the recent screwup in our ability to access the site. Almost caused a 911 call to the emergency room! All better now.]

NightTim’s excellent comments are enlightening. It is rare to find any site promoting hot Asian men with regularity. This young man of current luscious desirabilityousness has set off a tidal wave of interest, the wave being composed mostly of saliva!!

  32. robert on March 2nd, 2009 at 11:21 pm

Skilled diplomacy: NightTim is in DC. That place could use someone as competent in presenting an opinion / apologia / argument / historial provenance with such tact, restraint, articulation, correct spelling and grammar. I’m sorry, Square, to be a prick and say that “anyways” isn’t a real word. Now you can castigate me for my prickiness in being so anal as to have mentioned it!

  33. Square on March 2nd, 2009 at 11:36 pm

Okay, what in Paul Adelstein’s random fur is going on here? Are you guys trying to snag one of my husbands behind my back? Fess up!

That said, I couldn’t thank you enough for your comments. Really.

  34. Ouch! on March 3rd, 2009 at 5:09 pm

Joe, yes, I’m all of those. I’m not ashamed of who I am, unlike political correct people…

  35. NightTim on March 3rd, 2009 at 10:40 pm

Robert, thanks for all the nice words! And Square, one more thing, (and then everyone can stop rolling their eyes and get back to the real fawning at hand!)… sometimes I have been surprised to find myself coming here even more for the writing than the pictures. Yes, of course, the eye candy (primarily of the hairy sort) is always medicinal regardless of my mood, but when I’ve had a really crappy day or feel especially down, I’ve actually sought out the website because I know I will literally LOL! So THANK YOU!

  36. robert on March 4th, 2009 at 8:46 pm

If you drool over Tim Kang, you might also like Peter Le [also the less attractive name: Peter Fever] on Caramelito Veranile’s site. Blistering Hot!
Not hairy, but ever so sizzling. Some “mature only” pix, nothing fully nude. A body of perfection, muscular but not roidy. Living proof of the extraordinary sexiness of the Asian male.

  37. Ralph on March 9th, 2009 at 6:55 pm

Please use the word “oriental” only if you’re planning to also refer to persons of European descent as “occidental.”

  38. ally on March 9th, 2009 at 7:26 pm

if you want more of him – watch The Mentalist – he is a detective – it also has super yummy Simon Baker and the guy’s whose name I can’t spell – Owain (?) – good show to look at – :)

  39. Randall on March 10th, 2009 at 9:02 am

First time I noticed Tim Kang was in two small roles on “Chappelle’s Show.” I was so taken, I researched him via IMDB and Google. Thanks to Square, I have seen him shirtless.

I have loved Asian men since drooling over John Lone in “The Last Emperor.”

  40. Duckhunter1 on March 11th, 2009 at 3:08 pm

No Samurai I find sad since Orientals dont want to be from there race anymore did you that Japanese woman get operations to make there eyes more rounder instead of more slanted?

  41. Duckhunter1 on March 11th, 2009 at 3:14 pm

Nighttim I am sorry your mother had to experience that.

But remember that time period was terriable for both sides

but you cant be senstive if you are then your just going to be freezing up when someone jokes about that.

again I ask what is ASIAN?

    Indian are asian

    Russians are asian

  42. Duckhunter1 on March 11th, 2009 at 3:20 pm

talking of Orientals anyone see Dante Basco his pretty yummy looking

Yeah Nighttim I am from Maryland you want to talk more?

Yeah I do agree there are not enough Oriental man out there

im mike and im azn, and Im proud of my heritage. Chinese descent…to be specific. i embrace all things chinese, but i would also like to open my options and i dont think race isnt a big deal. Im also quite hairy, like a cub.

I do tend to find middle-eastern, mediterranean and caucasians better. But thats just my preference. I still think asian men are hella sexy.

But if anyone wants to get to know an azn dude, gimme a holla!

Duckhunter, thanks for beautifully demonstrating how stupid it is – in many cases – to call someone “Oriental” or say they’re “from the Orient.” I don’t know who Russell Wong is, but Keanu Reeves and Dean Cain were both born, and have lived their whole lives, in the United States. How are they “Oriental”? They both have some East Asian ancestry, but stop “EXOTICIZING” and “WEIRDIFYING” everyone who has any amount of East Asian ancestry by saying they’re “FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE”. It doesn’t matter if it’s “meant as a compliment” about how sexually attractive it makes them. You’re taking ONE feature of them and making it the primary, defining thing what they are.

  51. johncyna on March 5th, 2010 at 5:15 am

The Mentalist is one of my favorite shows. Tim has not done a shirtless scene, yet. I know he is HOT, but didn’t know he was hairy chested. Now he is even HOTTER. I have to get this movie.

  52. Jay Woolsrake on March 15th, 2010 at 12:20 pm

Here are two of the many things I love about you, Big Square (besides your wicked wit and ability to turn a phrase): 1.) you’re ability to find and celebrate the sexiness of a wide variety of men; and 2.) your magnanimous way of responding to your readers and their comments. You manage to keep this all fun, no matter what.

You make me see the sexy in a variety of men. You guys know my tastes. They’re pretty narrows. They’re like a private table just for Patrick Warburton, Alec Baldwin, and me. But damned if some of my visits to squarehippies don’t get my juices flowing for guys I’ve overlooked. Tim Kang is worth a second, third, and fourth look. His eyes are soulfully adorable, and yep, I get to see some chest hair as well.

And I really loved this particular thread, especially for the very thoughtful and clear discussion from readers who identify themselves as Asian, as to what they know, feel, and prefer and why. (Unless the discussion is about what short, redheaded gay guys want to be called, I figure it’s my duty to shut up and just listen.) But also, Big Square, you’re responses were very warm and thoughtful, which just makes me want to keep coming back to this blog, like a comfy bar full of friends having fun, whether or not I reserve my usual table for three.

I’ve not heard of Robot Stories, but I’ve heard of Tim Kang from watching The Mentalist. Try watching it, as it’s fantastic. Tim Kang has obviously been working out since he started acting on The Mentalist, as he’s so buff he’s almost bursting out his shirts. He’s so lush and sexy. It’s not Kendall Cho, it’s Kimble Cho, dumb ass. He’s so cute and fit. Check out those muscles if you adore a buff man.
