Eugene Hutz in Filth and Wisdom

Eugene Hutz

This post is pretty much debatable; uglysexy at its best. And probably less than five three of you would find this hot. A few years back, I used to go crazy over Tommy Lee like guys (translation: dark, skinny, masculine, crazy, broken and unconventionally sexy). This one has a mustache to boot as well. Eugene Hutz is a Ukrainian born singer of the New York Gypsy punk rock band, Gogol Bordello. Here is Eugene from Madonna’s directorial debut, “Filth and Wisdom”. I’m definitely not going to comment much, because these pictures (and his questionable hotness) pretty much speak for themselves.

kinda working that easternBloc/gypsisex thing. missing the bad boi element!

hmmm. Well, whatever turns ya on I s’pose. does anyone else think pics of our favs smoking is a turn off? never found it sexy, cosmopolitan, sophisticated, urbane or whatever else they’re going for.

Now, let’s talk about Dave Mathews. THERE’S a cool, nice, talented guy and gorgeous, in my humble opinion. Fabulous hairy chest. As a musician, he’s first rate. a la Bela Fleck.

  • loudrockmusic

INTO IT. Do you know about the documentary all a out Eugene? It’s called “The Pied Piper of Herzegovina”.
I once stood about five feet away from Eugene at a show once and I got the biggest boner. He’s a little skinny for me, but his heat radiates, lemme tell you! Start wearing purple!

  • jemma

woo, eugene. since seeing ‘everything is illuminated’ i thought he was cute, in an unconventional way :) i like him better without the circus moustache tho

  • Dennis

@Robert: I’m with you; the smoking is a complete turn off for me.

    Unless it’s John Hamm.

I can’t think of single thing that could turn me off that man.

  • http://www.squarehippies.com Ray Hesse

Finally, Robert! Someone agrees with me. When I see some hot guy smoking he automatically gets demerits. I’ve never smoked, never wanted, never thought it was cool or sophisticated. It’s ugly, stupid, and of course there’s the little matter of emphysema and the like. Just don’t get the appeal.

I will say this guy has a nicely constructed back, but that’s about it. But then if everybody were hot, nobody would be, because there’d be nothing to compare them to, right?

  • Dieguito

    He reminds me of Mario…

Mario Bros i mean :P je je je

Not hot for me… needs a heavy shaving first… and a bath

  • szoszo

wow square you just surprised me out of my wits. its a pleasent surprise!!!

and my opinion is that seeing my favs smoke is the biggest turn on ever.

  • robert

@szoszo: I know this is true for any number of people. Certainly in movies from the time there were any, especially in the 30s, 40s, smoking was considered the sophisticated, urbane thing to do. Women smoking in movies early on was definitely a cool and rebellious representation, thus more and more women began to smoke in public. I don’t know, I’ve never smoked and being a non-smoker kissing a smoker is, as they say, sort of like licking an ash tray. For mutual smokers, I guess that’s not a prob.

Ray Hesse points to the REAL issue. Health. there is no up side to smoking, none. Cool or not. BTW, think of those you know who have done everything they know to quit the habit? Young people don’t think about that. Without a doubt, trying to give it up is in their future. it’s like death, “it won’t happen to me” at that age. Smoking in movies, TV, etc. does reflect “real life” certainly but it can be avoided even in the grittiest of dramas.

Drinking? Now there’s another problem. And it’s a completely legal drug and shown with impunity. A recovering alcoholic, I know wherefrom I speak!

There is something about him that does make him kinda sexy. I like the mustache…then again I have a thing for facial hair…

  • raydcons

    I’d do him!

  • http://www.rarefilmclassics.com Brian

    Damn, he’s cool.

  • deej

I know exactly what you mean. I like this guy. I’m sure I’ve seen him, although not sure about that movie…perhaps I just didn’t know Madonna directed it. I’ve always had a thing for thin, offbeat guys. Big noses are not a turn off for me either. Don’t get me wrong, I like the pretty boys, but somehow this type seems more accessible. He actually looks a bit like a previous lover of mine too, which brings back some hot memories.

  • Emmalee

God damn, that man is sexier than…I don’t even know what.

    Mmm mmm good.

    Genius :].
    Musical genius.

I’m usually not even into guys, but there’s something so endearing about him.Guess it’s that he’s hysterical and appealingly goofy.Illumated had me contemplating dropping the soap as I rolled on the floor.Normally hippiefied words make me choke, but it seems like a mixure of that, voice, accent and smile.Hell, usually smiles leave me cold as well.I can almost see that slightly tired grin as he straps falsies on his back and rolls his r’s.I even like the moustache(a first) and he moves like a world-weary lynx.

  • LaNae

I love everything about Eugene, especially his moustache.

  • shorty

I think he was hot in “Everything is Illuminated,” where he had his mustache shaved off. I just don’t find him hot with that handlebar mustache! He has a nice bod though…

I’d take him over a factory churned Chelsea queen ANY DAY.

For all of you that aren’t into Eugene, I suggest checking out his band Gogol Bordello first. I thought he was kind of funny looking at first, but once I watched some interviews and became a total gypsy punk fan, his raw energy, sexy Ukrainian accent, and musical skill totally won me over. He’s definitely one of those guys whose personality, expressions, etc. make his physical features sexier. Also, interesting that people are commenting on the smoking thing, because when I met Eugene he was smoking a cigarette. In pictures sometimes smoking adds a certain candor that I like, but in real life it’s a turn off for me. It makes them and me smell gross…. and I just like a guy who isn’t dependent on substances in general.
