It looks like Howerton would have a big, dense pelt without the trimming. Since that level of hairiness is (unfortunately) utterly taboo nowadays, I understand why he trims. I don't like it, but I understand. But why, oh why, would a man trim so damn CLOSE? It's ugly and unnatural-looking, and it feels nasty to touch. It may be heresy to say, but I'd rather he waxed it off. At least that would FEEL nice, and it could pass for natural. This is just ... a mess.
