No that is standard for most blogs.
You don't have to be a member of the forum to post comments of the blog.
They ask for the name and addy to prevent or at least try to prevent spam posts by bots.

I don't get it. I just posted a comment on the main site regarding James Wolk, but my avatar didn't show up like RobertG's. It's some other avatar that's on many other comments.

Go to the Main Site home page and find the link just below the Logo where it says "set up your avatar" -- just follow the directions, of course. oxoSB

No, I didn't mean the comments transfer from the main site to here. I meant that the pics from the main site will most likely wind up over here and get commented on.
